He's the Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami , Nayeb-e-Ameer and was an elected person in the National Assembly of Bangladesh from Nineteen Huandred and ninetyn seven to 2008. 28 February 2013, he was convicted of offences against mankind including murder, arson, looting, rape, and changing visitors to Islam through the 1971 Bangladesh liberation conflict forcefully. fourth October 2011 , he was indicted on 20 counts of crimes against humanity by the Bangladesh International Crimes Tribunal under the International Crimes Tribunals Law 1973.The tribunal has been highly criticised by international observers. Sayeedi was convicted on eight charges on 28 February 2013 and was sentenced to death for just two of the charges.
